Frequently Asked Questions

What types of therapy services do you offer? What is your approach?

I offer individual counselling, psychotherapy services, and couples counselling & therapy.

Psychodynamically oriented :

Which means I agree with the concept that our early family life, and experiences therein, shape us in all kinds of ways, for good and ill. Later experiences also have an influence, sometimes a sizeable one, but that early imprint creates the foundation.

Bio-Psycho-Social Model:

Our individual biology, along with our psychological makeup up, and the social and cultural environment we live in, all contribute to create our unique sense of self.

Unconscious Elements:

The psyche is a complex system and we sometimes hide, unknowingly, even from ourselves, unwanted or overwhelming thoughts/feelings/experiences, that we can't integrate or make sense of. In Psychotherapy you can discover these parts of yourself, allowing you to develop a sturdier, more conscious sense of who you are and what you need to create a more satisfying and joyful life.

How long is a session? How frequent are the sessions?

Weekly sessions are usually the best way to make progress, but fortnightly sessions can also be an option.
We will discuss this together.

What is the fee?
